Noticed two, humongous columns that have appeared across from the terminal in the last few days? They’re the first visible pieces of a distinctive roof canopy that will add a modern aesthetic to BNA’s look.
When finished, it will connect our next airport parking garage (under construction now) to the central terminal, complete with a pedestrian bridge over Terminal Drive. Both columns are 80 feet tall and weigh 25 tons each. More signs of progress as we grow and expand!
Effective June 26, Green Beans Coffee is now closed in the Baggage Claim. It will make way for much-needed restroom space on the South side of the Baggage Claim as part of BNA Vision. (more…)
NASHVILLE – Nashville International Airport (BNA) set a new monthly record for total number of passengers with 1,663,780 passengers in May 2019, an eight percent increase over the previous record set in October 2018 (1,538,312 passengers) and a 17 percent increase over last May’s passenger volume (1,418,316 passengers).
BNA has set passenger records in each of the last six calendar years, reaching 16 million passengers in 2018, an increase of 13.2 percent over the previous year.
On average, approximately 22,000 departing passengers are screened through the security checkpoint at BNA per day.
ONE YEAR AGO: We deposited the first dump truck load of material as part of the Terminal Apron and Taxilane Expansion. Watch the project unfold!
By the numbers:
—55,800 dump truck loads deposited, weighing more than 1,171,800 tons
—10,973 tons of asphalt placed
—13 acres of space created
—Workforce of 56 people
—90,000+ hours of labor
—100% regional materials used
Why we did it:
The resulting space will accommodate construction of the new International Arrivals Facility (shown). When the IAF opens in 2023, the space will be used as aircraft maneuvering and parking space. Big things are coming with #BNAVision!
