Eyes On The Horizon

By 2041, the population of the Greater Nashville Area is expected to surpass 2.5 million people. By 2023, BNA® passenger traffic will grow to more than 23 million. BNA® Vision is the dynamic expansion plan designed to get in front of this growth and maintain Nashville International Airport® as a world-class transit hub.

Precise details of BNA® Vision will evolve as individual projects take shape, but the current plan includes:

  • Interim International Arrivals Building
    • Complete and operational
  • Terminal Garage 1
    • Complete and open
  • Terminal Garage 2
    • Complete and open
  • Terminal Apron and Taxilane Expansion
    • Phase 1: Complete
    • Phase 2: To be completed in Fall 2023
  • Expanding Concourse D and Building a Central Utility Plant
    • Concourse D: Complete and open
    • Central Utility Plant: Complete and operational
  • Expanding the Ticketing Lobby and Baggage Claim
    • North Terminal Wing Expansion: Complete and open
    • South Terminal Wing Expansion: Complete and open
  • On-Airport Hotel and Terminal Garage
    • Garage: Complete and open
    • Hotel: Now Open
  • State-of-the-Art International Arrivals Facility (IAF)
    • Complete and open
  • Terminal Lobby Renovation
    • Complete and open

  • Donelson Pike Relocation and Terminal Access Roadway Improvements 
    • Currently in design
    • Donelson Pike Relocation (TDOT): To be completed in 2026

How is BNA Vision funded?

No local tax dollars will be used. Rather, funding will come from bonds, federal and state aviation grants, Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs) and other airport funds.

How long will BNA Vision take to complete?

BNA Vision is expected to be completed over the next five-to-seven years. Individual projects will be phased in with different start and completion dates during this time.
